Some good...."non-trumpeting" music :)

Reading the posts on here made me think of flipping through vinyl at the mall when I was a kid. Harmony Hut was the bomb and had the Top 40 45's in their own section! It was right next to the door. So while I'm looking at Parliament's "Flashlight" etc., this is blaring in the background! Enjoy!

A King and a Prince in this one!!!!
-
There's a little horn, sorry!
-
Dr. Go, you know these dudes? Dayton is the "Land of Funk"!!!

Tobylou,
With the combination of Prince, Funk, Soul, and Muzak, you must have been one “wild and crazy guy” back in the day. The 1970’s Mall Muzak, however, made me cringe and reach for my emergency supply of Prozac. I suppressed those memories in the deep dark corners of my brain until you brought them back to the surface with your post. There is an interesting history to Muzak in general, including Mall Muzak. Here it is:

This is one of my favorites, too.

And now for a little stress relief.

@J-Jericho
That was killer Foo Fighters! Here's one of my personal favorites because, well, it's the Foo Fighters and it shows the history of David Letterman (really fast). Its amazing who he has had on his show.

YouTube suggested Ladyva a few weeks ago. Here's a recent performance:

Excellent Pianist! -
@ssmith1226 Mario Von Holten, the drummer, is excellent, too.
-
Man, she can tickle the ivory. Nice music.
-
I just watched this again. Chris Conz, the keyboard player ain't too bad either!

This is the music that my parents instructed me not to like when I was a kid. Lotta good that did!
I was stupefied by the girl that played the first tune. She played all the right notes but emphasized the beat! It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!
Other than that... I couldn't help but smile. Apparently neither could anyone else. Happy, joyful music!Apparently she's learned to swing since this was posted. Thanks for pointing this out, culydoc!

Bolero as you have never heard it!

Anything by Ella Fitzgerald, Esperanza Spaulding, or Haley Rheinhart.

I wasn’t sure whether to post this video here or under humor. This is a performance of “The Band of HM Royal Marines”. It is both good non-trumpeting music and humorous. The performance takes place in the Royal Albert Hall, although Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band does not participate.
