Anyone here into photographing railroad subjects? Years ago, I was interested in both photography and trains, and took a lot of photos of them, mostly with an old Miranda 35mm camera. I still like photography, but I don’t chase trains any more...lol
Anyway, to get things started, I’ll post a few of the ones I’ve taken for any who are interested. Feel free to post any you have taken, but please don’t post generic pics found on the net.

I really like the fourth one from the top!
Looks great as is and would look awesome in a sharp contrast black at white.

Nice. Thanks for sharing.

Nice pics, Dale. I was always a train lover and seeing both steam engines and diesel brings back memories.

A couple of those are right in the pocket of Big Dub's painting technique. You guys might do a collaboration.

They can call it: "Let's Railroaded the Artist"

@Dale-Proctor
These are great, some of which could be a nice challenge for me to paint. I love them. The older the better, of course. -

Nice of you to say. I am flattered, Kehaulani.

Here are two related to the Union Pacific Railroad. One is a great scale model of the Boise Train Depot and the other is “Big Mike” a restored Locomotive sitting outside the Depot there in Boise.

Yeah, this is the perfect thread to derail with way outside comments!

You may question my training, but not my motives. My motives are sane, not loco motives.

I love hiking old railroad lines. Below Harrisburg there is a freight line called the Enola it had no grades more than 1% it is 36 miles long. I hiked it many times. I will dig some pics.

@adc
The Virginia Creeper trail in southwestern VA is a really nice one. -
The Hopewell, NJ train station, where our community band does about 4 concerts each summer, weather permitting.
Almost every concert is visited by at least one passing freight train. The station is no longer in operation for passengers. -
First one reminds me of BigDub's paintings.

Me too. That’s why I led off with it.
