There are quite a few great Martin Instruments which are not Committee instruments.
I propose a separate thread to discuss these instruments here.

      Some examples:

      • Martin Handcraft Imperials
      • Martin Handcraft Standards
      • Martin Imperials
      • Martin Indiana's

Happy to answer any questions also.......

Hi everyone. I wasn;t sure whether to post this in the Committee Thread - or this one as it could have sat in either. Anyhow - I just made live my Martin Database (more of a visual database) - but it contains the collected information and photographs from many horns I have has/have over the past 10 years as well as some marketing materials, specs etc.
I would encourage you to check it out and let me know what you think.

I had a beautiful 1921 Silver Martin Superlative Cornet. I gave it to a very promising student in High School. It played every bit as well as my Committees.

More Cornets than I can name

@adc Nice of you to gift your horn to the next generation. I am trying to save as many as I can through education and restoration so that they may go on much longer.
The Superlative cornet is one model that I have yet to get my hands on.

I had a little look see. I thought it was very informative and the pics are superb. Never owned a Martin but have played a few Committees.

Thanks for checking it out. The pictures have been collated over many years of horns I have owned and played. I would say I maybe 40% left - with more to come.

Oh, if anyone is interested - I started a bit of a YouTube channel to highlight some of the less known Martin Horns (and others vintage horns I have access too of course).
(Still working on getting the sound recordings right - but it's a start)
You can check all the videos out here:

Here's a video I just posted on the Martin Handcraft Standard (US Forces Model) Bb Trumpet.
Collectors etc might also be interested to hear me name the Martin Band Instrument Company Executive Team in the video also (I have these from an official document which is also shown)

Up to Episode #8 of the Horn Introduction series and this one is pretty special. It's literally the most expensive horn I have ever purchased. (Probably still cheaper than one of the new Artist Series horns though 🙂 )

The video features the rare Martin Handcraft Imperial Large Bore (#3) from the 38-39 era with an M bell and all the extras.

Here's a new video which talks about the Martin Band Instruments Trumpet Mouthpiece line from the 20's through late 1950's:

My favorite Martin is from about 1923. It's a Martin Handcraft Dansant. What was special about it was that it was apparently made as a dance band horn with the particular ability to project sound across a room in competition with other sound coming from a dance band. It didn't project a particularly louder or fuller sound, and certainly not to the players ear.. just a more penetrating sound that would carry and remain somewhat distinct far out into a dance hall. Don't know if this intention succeeded or not but the bell shaft bends into a little longer total length than other horns I own. There must have been a lot of them made in the middle to late 20's because you see them on ebay fairly often. I'll attach a photo. It's the one in the middle on the shelf.
