A bittersweet parting

![alt text]( image url)this is a very good photo of nearly exactly how it looked when it was new. Well. My High School trumpet, the Sears Silvertone ( which was actually a Blessing Super Artist ) has been passed on now to some student in the Payette, Idaho School music program.
This was my first real horn and also the horn I used for practice while I was out in Boise, Idaho. It was very handy to have out there for over ten years now. I estimate it was made in 1965 and I was the original and only owner. The sweet part is that some child who may not have the means will now have an instrument to learn on and maybe end up being a great player.
It was certainly not about making a buck on it at all, either. My satisfaction comes from knowing it will be played and hopefully skills will be developed.

@bigdub Good on you to give away musical ability that way. A few months back, I donated three instruments and a heap of mouthpieces to a school in Bulgaria in a disadvantaged district... only last week, they sent me pics and videos of their founding a band at the school and their first performance at the End of School Year ceremony... with an official thank you document and an icon blessed by their local Orthodox priest... I can't tell you the joy I had from that. May you be similarly blessed.

Good for you, Wayne. Here our band director buys various brass instruments that need work, fixes them up and donates them to the local school bands. I've donated a couple of mouthpieces but no trumpets so far, but that could happen down the road.

I lived out there once. Payette is a nice little town. I'm sure that great piece of history will get good use.
