I've been "Out of pocket" for a while, returning to find one of my favorite hangouts has disappeared. So here I am, nodding and making eye contact with a few familiar faces, saying nothing (Because I have nothing to say) checking out the place and looking for a comfortable seat where I can have a view of the whole room and a clear line for the door.

As for my qualifications, let me just say that the horses seem to like my playing, the dogs not so much. The wildlife just ignores me, which I count as a good thing given the predominant local species. But I am improving. I will listen to advice from anyone, young or old. I don't hate anyone and I don't bother with screen names.

I guess, unlike me, your playing is more "equine" friendly and not a favorite to the canine side of things.
Not sure about the equine popularity on my part as it has not been tested, but my canine friends are very avid fans.

                  Hey, Chuck, I remember you.

As for me, I don't have any experience in playing for horses but some of my biggest fans are cats and dogs, and a couple of deer who visit the window of the room where I practice at 5 am every morning.

Nice to see your name here, Chuck.

I used to have a cat who was fine with me practicing in the same room, as long as it didn't get too loud. The cat I owned before her would take off running the second he heard a case latch pop open. Sort of the same reaction I get with most people...lol

@BigDub The cat is purring and today I had a pair of bald eagles circling overhead. I have a very diverse audience here: three horses, two dogs, a cat, half a dozen black tail deer and the eagles which I see have a nest in a tall cedar just to the North of the house.
Nice place. Real "Alaska" style. I couldn't afford the maintenance. We are care-taking while the owner is out commercial fishing.

@Kehaulani I lived on Oahu from 1977 to 2007 in Wahiawa, Pearl City, Palolo, Waikiki and, from 1990, on my boat either in Ke'ehi Lagoon or in the Ala Wai. Sailed back for a year-long visit in 2011/12, then sailed up here to Alaska. BTW, she worked at Anna Bannana's on Beretania Street, just off University.

We had the privilege to visit Alaska in 2016. Saw some amazing wildlife including many Bald Eagles. Believe it or not we have Bald Eagles right here in central NJ, and have seen them with our own eyes. We even have black bear, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, skunks, and an over abundance of white tailed deer. When I was a kid living in the same general area, deer were a novelty to see. Now, we chase them out of our back yard with a few yells and claps. Sometimes they just stare like we're from Mars.
