RE: Best ebay description I have seen in a long time!
I bet the $79 trumpets play better.

RE: Olds Recording circa 1966
Memories are good. Girlfriend usually watching MASH reruns when i show up on weekends. The MASH theme takes me back to 7th grade band every time. One of the first TV show theme songs i figured out how to play. I was copying another kid though, but i went on to figure out a lot more in Jr High;)

RE: Bundy!
It does let me piece together some info. Maybe the Bach designed one was before the time period i thought. Honestly decent student horns, close to Olds in my opinion. Those green cases are pretty rare, i have only seen a couple.

RE: How about a forum for Curio and Relic horns?
I can't believe no one ripped me for watching such a cheesy movie;)

RE: The One
I now have found the one for me. Puts the rest to shame. pTrumpet. Accept no substitute.

RE: Sleep Faster
You actually still GET painkillers? Lots of people sent home with Advil now. I realize Opiates were way over prescribed, but shutting them down completely is overkill. When kids can no longer get pain pills, or beer or cigarettes, they turn to crazy stuff like bath salts.

Olds Super Star
Bought yet another of these fine horns on Ebay last week. Perfect closet Queen. Cleaning, polishing and #1 and #3 slides, its going to be a sexy horn again;)

RE: What about non-trumpet Brass players
I started off on T-Bone in 6th grade, and switched to Trumpet for 2 reasons. Trumpets got to shine a lot more, not be in the background. And in Jr High, there were a LOT of good looking girls in the trumpet section;) Still not sure which reason was most paramount to my decision;)

RE: My journey starts here . . . .
Buescher made some damn sexy horns. I once had a 400 from around 1960, but sold it. Picked up a 400 Cornet off SGW tonight at a pretty good price, and it looks great. I will find out its condition for sure in a week or so;) I love how short the movement of the valves are on the 400's)

RE: Olds Super Star
Can't be as messy as ketchup;) Will try one.
Thats why i said it was a pet peave;) One of my many OCD impulses;)

RE: Another hunk of metal goes for too much on the good 'ol SGW!
Saw that too. Yep, a brand new one is a little cheaper, once you add freight. It doesn't happen very often though. Most seem legit. It could be as simple as time running out and someone thinking it was a Schilke;)

RE: Harrelson 5MM Modular Mouthpiece
Well, ended the safari till the next time anyway;)

RE: Another hunk of metal goes for too much on the good 'ol SGW!
EVER seen a lead pipe MORE twisted from a stuck mouthpiece?

RE: DUH!! I finally figured it out, after all these years! (playing with minimal pressure)
Watched your video Butch. Congrats! As for the room, it COULD work! get rid of all tose pictures on the fireplace mantle though. Trumpets go there. The fireplace will keep you warm as you play naked. Kind of like Scrooge McDuck and his money baths;)

Great Idea!
I have been playing around with this idea of yours a few days. Really had too many fires going on right now to spend the time on it though. Glad you did;)
