Seems to be working. I'll have to do it on several threads and different times to make sure, but seems to be. Thank you.

RE: Doubling on a tenor sax
Those Couf Superba's are excellent horns. Had a Couf alto.
On tenor, had Keilwerth, Selmer, Yamaha and Conn. Eventually settled of Selmer Alto and Keilworth Tenor.
But we could go on ad naseum. Bottom line. if you're just starting out and don't even know if you'll stick with it, the Yamaha probably has the best compromise horn. And it has good resale value if you change your mind.

Was part of the "sound" of the Shaggs no sense of time?They were just inept and forced into it by a father who must've lived in an alternate universe. You can google them. BTW, Frank Zappa gave them kudos.

RE: Guilty Pleasure Listening
I don't feel guilty about listen to the Sex Pistols, Mike, that's why it's not on the list.
I've mentioned before, but I have "guilty pleasure" in liking "The Shaggs".
I suppose, for some it might be considered 'guilty", but I like "Saturday Night Fever".

RE: Why not another thread about bigger horns ?

And one of the reasons there isn't more interest in this thread is that most people aren't interested in things other than trumpets on these sites.Funny thing to find on a trumpet forum.

RE: Guilty Pleasure Listening
@tjcombo - that's a favourite of mine, too.
I actually got hooked on this stuff when I was working disco/soul bands in Germany. After an evening of playing loud, high-energy tunes, I would enjoy driving through the peaceful countryside at 01:00 or 02:00 in the morning listening to this. At first, it was just tongue-in-cheek, but it became a perfect way to come down before getting home.

RE: Holton spares
If I were you, I'd check with Jim Becker at Osmun Music. If he doesn't know, I don't know who would.

RE: Dry instrument vs Wet instrument
If it were me, I'd guess I was overthinking it. If you've been playing another horn and adopting to it's idiosyncracies (sp?), I would expect to feel a difference if I picked up a horn I hadn't been playing for a while.
