Well, it'S always a question of which version of the Good Book you are referring to. So I went off the translations - which are human interpretations anyway - and back to the original texts (being a historian with Jewish connections, knowing Hebrew and Greek was easy). And hey presto - no one in the original texts ever said anything about the Earth being flat or round - it just is not mentioned in the Bible at all, because it does not matter to whoever first composed the text.
You can't use something that is not mentioned at all as a proof...
      Lecture mode off.

Well, I am no physician. But I have had similar problems in the past, and I found in myself that the combination of acid blockers and blood thinners was far worse than the blood thinners alone. My GP then took me off the acid blockers and hey presto, all the side effects vanished. I do not recommend doing that on your own. But it might be an idea to suggest to your doctor.

      Warning! Not PC!

The UN recently did a survey, asking "What in your honest opinion can be done about the lack of food in the rest of the world?"
The answers showed slight problems with vocabulary: Americans did not know "the rest of the world", Africans did not know "food", Germans did not know "lack", Italians did not know "honest", and Russians did not know "opinion".

      @Dr-GO
Old chestnut... Two guys are carrying a grand piano up a skyscraper - the lift was too small. Finally, on the 29th floor, one guy says to the other, "I've got good and bad news for you." - "What's the good?" - "We're on the correct floor." - "And the bad?" - "We're in the wrong house."

OK, I think this topic has now been discussed enough. Let's get on with our regular business - discussing trumpets, trumpet playing, being good friends and how to avoid trolls.

@Brian-Moon said in Dr. Mark, now A Former User:

What ever happened to the legendary (especially in his own mind) Michael E. Schmidt?

Possibly the same as to KT Kurt Thompson who was of a similar persuasion.

I've just researched the matter. Greatleather is a boutique leather goods manufacturer with an eye to musicians' needs. Without this connection, I would have terminated this new membership; but seeing that there is a direct connection with trumpet playing, I'll let the memership live. @Kehaulani First of all, there are up to three different types of institutes of higher education in music. I'll detail the system in Germany.

Lowest professional school of music is the "Musikalische Fachschule" which you only need a basic level of education to enter, together with a musical audition. This school is primarily for the training of music teachers for primary schools.
Then, there are the Music Conservatories that usually take up students - musical talent provided as soon as they have completed their first high school diploma (after 10 years of school).

And finally, there are the Music Universities which require Abitur (which is after 13 years of school).

However, there are loopholes. Adequate talent will be the key to what they call "junior studentships". About 10 % of students fall into that categories, starting as early as age 12.

And the best thing is: University Education (including Music Universities) in Germany is free (for German residents).

Thanks for continuing this topic. But please consider that graduate schools are a phenomenon of the USA only. I would like to ask those members who have non-USA experience in this field to contribure.

For me, rim size and rim shape are all-important. If the rim is ok, I can work with different cup sizes. And brand for me is a nullity - some of the mouthpieces I like best are el cheapo A&S Bach copies.
