I think, with this account, I will back off posts. I might make another, more anonymous account, to speak my mind.

We've been up for about 2 years now. Here are some interesting statistics. I have SEO tools which check how we rank. We currently rank on Page 1 for the following search terms:
"trumpet boards" - 1
"trumpetboards" - 1
"olds pinto trumpet" - 4
"wynton marsalis practice routine" - 5
"elmer churampi" - 6
"diy trumpet practice mute" - 7
We had 2867 unique visitors last month. This month we are already passed 5000. Number of users exceeds 300-400, I'm not entirely sure but we keep adding a few new ones every week.
If you google "trumpet master," thanks to a reddit thread, it directs people to this site now.
I have put this off for far too long, and now the software which runs this site has gotten very out-of-date and possibly has security issues. I'm going to have to update the software soon. Don't worry, I will back up all data before doing so. However, the site might be down for even a couple of days while I work this out. I'll let you know for sure before I go ahead and attempt this, but I just wanted to warn users beforehand.
If you need to contact me, please email me at: info@trumpetboards.com. Thank you.

That Besson is beautiful. Vintage french cornets have a certain beauty to me, like vintage Italian bicycles.

I would reach out to Dr. Bergman with any questions you might have. He is a personal friend of mine, a fine trumpeter and our next ITG President. I trust his word.
I am Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, was the President of the Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Association, have a National Teaching Award named after me (The Gary Onady Award) published Evidence-based Systematic Reviews on allergy reactions AND am a member of the American Federation of Musicians (very proud of that one). So what am I, chopped liver?
I see and have personally cared for and treated nickel allergies (more related to jewelry) for over 30 years in my medical practice. The case you posted is a clear presentation of long duration, repeat exposure to nickel which is commonly seen in a medical practice. So any individual can additionally reach out to me through this thread, as a member of TrumpetBoards. But I ask you to judge for yourselves if you feel my above discussions are on point.
Please do read our disclaimer. I do ask that you first reach out personally to your own physician and then have that physician contact me if they have additional questions. I will provide the background and medical recommendations that physicians' will need. I serve as a consultant to United Healthcare and the American College of Physicians to produce such educational materials for physicians and patients.
Didn't mean to discredit your credentials, only that I personally know Dr. Bergman and he's an empathetic and qualified trumpet pedagogue.
I know a trumpet player with perfect pitch. Actually, I know two. They are both fine trumpeters. That being said, one of them was my schoolmate and I still regularly beat him in auditions. I have decent relative pitch. Trombone is mostly about the muscle memory, just like trumpet.
As part of this new forum, I can create and modify groups. I would like to create a "Credentialed Professionals" group to distinguish certain posters. Part of the issue we have had in past forums is that credentialed and well-respected musicians would write posts, only to be flamed by anonymous users. With this feature, these people would be clearly marked and any future newcomers to the site would have a better opportunity to quickly discern who to trust and who is....well, less-than trustworthy!
If you would like to be a member of this group, please clicks "Groups" on the top navbar, select the "Credentialed Professionals" group and request membership. Please give some evidence for your request in a private chat session with administrator. Thank you!
Clark Terry passed away about this time 4 years ago.

I used to be active on Sax on the Web, and several of the participants used drones regularly for intonation work.
I'm actually fairly impressed. I didn't know there were such humble saxophonists!
I always recommend a qualified teacher.
You can get lessons online if you are not within travelling distance of a teacher.
This is the first time I've heard of this guy, but I really like his playing.
Maybe there are not "natural" players, but there certainly are wunderkind!

Well, as the song goes:
"I was gonna practice my horn, but then I got high!"
(Note: I am NOT recommending this!)
I saw this joke on line and thought it was appropriate:
A guy walks into the doctor's office and says, "Doc, I haven't had a bowel movement in a week!" The doctor gives him a prescription for a mild laxative and tells him, "If it doesn't work, let me know." A week later the guy is back: "Doc, still no movement!" The doctor says, "Hmm, guess you need something stronger," and prescribes a powerful laxative. Still another week later the poor guy is back: "Doc, STILL nothing!" The doctor, worried, says, "We'd better get some more information about you to try to figure out what's going on. What do you do for a living?" "I'm a musician, I play the trumpet." The doctor looks up and says, "Well, that's it! Here's $10.00. Go get something to eat.
