Man, she's going to love it and it may be an eye opener for her, too. You're doing her a great favor. Good on ye!
Thank you and I hope so! I'm her trumpet teacher and I see it as part of being a Dad.

Back to horn bands, I've been on a Seawind binge recently, a favorite band of mine. Jerry Hey and the boys with Pauline Wilson on vocals. I believe the horns were on several top albums like Stevie Wonder. T hey became pretty legendary. Anyway, enjoy.
BTW, I got married with their music. Ah, the free-wheeling 70s, LOL.

I had a trumpet teacher as a tween who signed his death warrant the day he came over for dinner and my father played the trumpet solo from An American in Paris and said that one of these days I'll play like that, and my teacher said it in all seriousness, "Gary plays like that now". I soon moved to another teacher.
I like that you moved on. There's a saying that goes kinda like this.
"If you're the smartest or the best in a group, you need to move to a new more challenging group." -
Liked these guys.

Early horn bands have to include Wayne Cochran and the C.C. Riders

I really love Matrix. What a band. I saw them at the Wichita Jazz Fest in the mid 1970s. They were amazing. At the end of their concert they made a big deal about their soundman and how a sound man can make or break a band.
This inspired me to search for them on the interwebs. I was surprised at how many albums they put out. Guess I'm gonna have to warm the old credit card up.

I was in a carload of jazz music students from North Texas going to Ft. Worth to see Buddy Rich. Matrix was the warm-up band. It was so unique, we didn't even care about Buddy's band, once Matrix began playing. The night belonged to Matrix.
Probably my favourite cut:

"Clea" is nice. Best song ever? Not sure. I am partial to this one "Make Me Yours" by Kenesis, the band I played with in the late 70's:

Hi Dr-GO,
It has a Mahavishnu Orchestra Visions of the Emerald Beyond sound to it.
Very Good!
