Excellent and concise answer to my question!
How long did it take you to switch to your new embrasure and feel comfortable playing in all ranges?

Over the last few years I have seen advertisements for Greg Spence’s Windworks “Mystery to Mastery” program. I certainly could benefit tremendously from making my playing more efficient and I’m considering taking the plunge. I have a few months coming up of reduced playing obligations, so I will have time to spend learning and practicing this method. My questions are, does anyone on the forum have any firsthand experience with this program, and if so, could they report on their experience and results?

All I have to say to that is tekiah, shevarim, t'ruah, tekiah gedolah and the walls came tumbling down.

Actually yes! As a kid I enjoyed hanging out at the Museum of Natural History in Manhattan. Below is a video of what I saw and remember clearly to this day.
Interestingly enough, when the book, Jurassic Park, came out, I read it while on a fishing trip, staying in the Darien Jungle of Panama. Needless to say, watched out carefully for Velociraptors and other carnivorous dinosaurs, especially when walking back to my cabin after dinner in the dark. Fortunately I did not encounter any other than in nightmares, which were very real!

The idea of a plate, bridge, or implants sounds good following extraction when affordable. It sounds like you may have significant periodontal disease.
To temporize, another option to look into would be plastic brace to bridge the gap. It might help while playing. One brand in the United States is “Invisalign”. I have no idea of the cost involved is or what playing with one might be like.

Glenn Paul Zottola, (born April 28, 1947) is an American jazz trumpeter and saxophonist.
He is known for his work with Lionel Hampton, Benny Goodman, and Bob Wilber, and has accompanied a broad range of vocalists, including Mel Tormé, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, and Joe Williams. He has recorded over 50 albums and, in 1988, was a featured soloist at the 50th anniversary of Benny Goodman's Carnegie Hall Concert. In 1995, Zottola was bandleader on the Suzanne Somers daytime TV talk show at Universal Studios.

Jazz trumpeter Bob Zottola played with them all. And all, in this case, means legends like Benny Goodman, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Charlie Barnet, Gerry Mulligan, Maynard Ferguson, Chick Corea and dozens of others.

With those credits, he could easily be resting on his laurels, With the emphasis on the word "rest." When Zottola moved to Southwest Florida in 2004 after completing a 16- year run in the Broadway orchestra of "Les Miserables" In New York City, he was certainly entitled to a break.

But he's done anything but slow down. He plays seven nights per week - and a few afternoons as well - and, in the process, is contributing to make Naples a jazz town. Only a world-class player could do that.
