These have been almost the first thing of the day I play since 1970. Then I go to tonguing, then some scales, Clarke. How about you all?

@Kehaulani I've played one of those!

RE: Check out this 1933 Selmer Balanced Model trumpet!
I have never played one of those. Was 'no slide rings' common on it?

Triple by-pass reocvery
Do any of you have experience playing after this operation? I came home last week and have already been told twice I was pushing it too hard. Slow for me, henceforth! I only play for self-satisfaction nowadays.. I'm thinking some mouthpiece drills soon. Get yourself checked, trumpet friends. I never knew I had a problem.

Berlin RIAS Orchestra
Berlin RIAS Orchestra - Ferenc Fricsay led this orchestra in some DGG recordings in the '50s. I've been listening to them recently. Really good playing. Does anyone here know who was in the trumpet section?

@Doodlin My advice is to play "Taps" as part of your warm-up each day. It takes you through the Open Notes, and will help build your range and flexibility a lot quicker. Enjoy yourself, and keep it fun.
...and the tune can be played on all valve combinations

A great mix
No topic here as of yet, so I shall begin. Playing the Getchell books along with the Clarke Technical Studies is a great mixture for development/improvement.
