You said your painting was in the Cochran. There's a Cochran Museum in Austin.

Haha. Pardonne moi. I hadn’t heard of that museum. No, the Cochrans are friends who commissioned me to do the painting in question. They live near me as well, in NJ.

That is awesome. What size is it?

I think it is 20”x30”. It is across town in another home, the Cochran's, though....

      Are you in Austin?

I'm in NJ. Hillsborough. Central Jersey. What gave you the impression I was in Austin?

A very Happy Easter to all.
Here is a little thing I did 40 years ago, on a nice piece of birch plywood. Painted straight on the plywood with a little thinned down brown around the border to act as a stain.876D93A7-9012-4A21-8E1B-F38C18FB322C.jpeg

At the risk of ruining it, I will not add any more to this one.
( Believe it or not there are changes from the previous stage I showed ) done. Put the fork in it now. I hope they don’t ask for any more details. The “customers” have not seen even the slightest hint of this painting yet.DDDBF19B-4F83-4204-94C9-108ED88C30E9.jpeg

Here are some subtle finishing touches. I think I may be done with it, but I will wait a while to decide...819720E9-2156-4AAC-913D-9AEBC10503ED.jpeg

Here is a set of photos showing my process to do a dog portrait. I may not always work this way, but this is how I am approaching this one. I may have to do two posts to handle all the shots. Some photoshopping was done on the first one, BTW5B9B2439-079A-4A29-99DF-AD01C722976C.jpeg F62E6CE5-7FA6-483A-90F8-E621D2F1FE28.jpeg

I would say I am a bit on the unconventional style. Some bits and pieces here and there, but a lot of things that I have discovered maybe by trial and error.....and sometimes accidentally!
I will do some of the palette knife stuff, but sometimes it needs a little help, in my opinion through other means, a brush sweeping lightly past, or a slightly wet brush to soften places. or even my finger, lots of times. This is acrylic paint, though. Did you know that?

2010 is when it was last sold, not when it was painted. Roberto's works were greatly recycled for generations. Characteristics are mandatory trees and mountains, and suns and skies that don't look like suns and skies.

Yes, of course paintings are always dated when they are sold and not when they are painted.....everybody knows that😎 😎

Or, maybe, a follower of Roberto Rossellini, ( affectionately known to us in the US as Bob Ross ) since Bob, I mean Roberto was dead before the date of 2010 there in the right hand corner.....

A painting by my great grandfather ( who I never got to meet ). The painting was one of many I have been looking at for my whole life. This one may be near 100 years old ! By the way, he only lived to be 54 years of age, and he was a contractor by trade.B3F99F05-4118-42E3-9A66-35E3C769B0C3.jpeg5438BD87-0DC1-48EB-BB87-4E5379BE8F0D.jpeg

A very old vintage painting I did which involved some combining of images....just saying, I did not actually see this scene as it appears except when I painted it that way! We are looking at something from around 1980 here.0119ECAD-5473-4054-B6D0-7186D303D931.jpeg

Another one you may ask why I did. Answer: I wanted to see how it would come out.
