During the quarantine I more or less decided that I shouldn’t expect to be too optimistic about selling anything, period.
Well, that was not to be the case. Through various connections, and by that I mean a lot of different means, I was able to sell 8 different pieces of art. This one was purchased from someone in Georgia who had moved away from my area and saw another painting posted by somebody on Google. It was in the photo selections of a Church in Rocky Hill, NJ. Somebody I don’t know posted a photo of my painting on Google for Rocky Hill Reformed Church. That is how this person hunted me down, and then also bought this ship painting! 1ADAEA74-D000-47EC-9C49-BE33B010F98C.jpeg

Isn't the painting missing the cards and poker chips? 😁

Oh, no. This one is an original. I couldn’t very well copy, now, could I?

A commission I am working on, it may be done. The paint isn’t even quite dry yet, and acrylics dry pretty fast! EAD954A6-549C-4769-925B-E1BDB133C20B.jpeg

My newest thing, also I did a time-lapse video of the whole thing from start to finish on FaceBook for those who want to watch paint dry, so to speak....6EF0B2D7-FE48-4611-B129-A9288918487C.jpeg

You said your painting was in the Cochran. There's a Cochran Museum in Austin.

Haha. Pardonne moi. I hadn’t heard of that museum. No, the Cochrans are friends who commissioned me to do the painting in question. They live near me as well, in NJ.

That is awesome. What size is it?

I think it is 20”x30”. It is across town in another home, the Cochran's, though....

      Are you in Austin?

I'm in NJ. Hillsborough. Central Jersey. What gave you the impression I was in Austin?

A very Happy Easter to all.
Here is a little thing I did 40 years ago, on a nice piece of birch plywood. Painted straight on the plywood with a little thinned down brown around the border to act as a stain.876D93A7-9012-4A21-8E1B-F38C18FB322C.jpeg

At the risk of ruining it, I will not add any more to this one.
( Believe it or not there are changes from the previous stage I showed ) done. Put the fork in it now. I hope they don’t ask for any more details. The “customers” have not seen even the slightest hint of this painting yet.DDDBF19B-4F83-4204-94C9-108ED88C30E9.jpeg

Here is a set of photos showing my process to do a dog portrait. I may not always work this way, but this is how I am approaching this one. I may have to do two posts to handle all the shots. Some photoshopping was done on the first one, BTW5B9B2439-079A-4A29-99DF-AD01C722976C.jpeg F62E6CE5-7FA6-483A-90F8-E621D2F1FE28.jpeg

      @Kehaulani

I would say I am a bit on the unconventional style. Some bits and pieces here and there, but a lot of things that I have discovered maybe by trial and error.....and sometimes accidentally!
I will do some of the palette knife stuff, but sometimes it needs a little help, in my opinion through other means, a brush sweeping lightly past, or a slightly wet brush to soften places. or even my finger, lots of times. This is acrylic paint, though. Did you know that?

Yes, of course paintings are always dated when they are sold and not when they are painted.....everybody knows that😎 😎

And they must be happy. And little. And any which way he wanted them to be.
