Beware the Ides of March!

So cool.

I was in a bar band in high school. This was one of the songs that we really played well. Very popular.
Oh yea, bar band, teenagers playing in bars, it was the early 70's. I'm guessing it wouldn't happen these days. Our lead singer always got lots of female attention. Bar ladies loved that guy. Only a skosh older than him. Heh.

Yeah, teenagers in bars playing a song about a creep using "candy" and "pictures" to entice young girls into his limo. What could possibly go wrong with that? But my teenage party band played it too, LOL. Everybody loved the vibe and nobody listened to the lyrics. Great song to play for New Years Eve parties.

It’s that day again!

The first song I learned when I joined a horn band. A classic!
-
One of the all-time great horn licks.
Like the vocal on the original better, though.
Newell, LOL.My first horn band was Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, pre-funk James Brown . . . tells you where I'm coming from.

@kehaulani I was late to the party on playing much of the music you mentioned. I was too busy being a jazz snob in those days
-
I was both, also preferring Jazz. I made more money playing Soul, though.
