      @dale-proctor

      I’ve owned it for around 35 years now. Only 78000 miles and average mileage a year now is 150 miles or less. Never comes out the garage if raining, going to rain or has rained recently.

      Which goes against what the research in the UK shows. Brass and woodwind emit fewer than speaking does.

      @mike-ansberry
      I can see the note, hear the note, play the note. But only on the trumpet, I can not sing the part. 🤷🏻‍♂️

      Yes I think it is the sort of thing I seek.

      Introducing Mr. Arban, Rapier,
      (You can download copies for free. Just google.)

      I’ve owned an Arban for 35 years or more. Not the theory I’m looking for.

      @tjcombo

      Yes. My problem was I started playing in a Brass Band. I gradually learned what key signatures were, but was never required to know the names of the scales. Just what notes to # or b. So all my playing is just from sheet music, with no theory knowledge whatsoever. I get by, but would like a bit more knowledge.

      Thanks. Seems useful from a quick glance. Memberships end in June, so not sure what happens after then.

      Anybody know of any good on line resources for learning music theory (very basic level)?

    • RE: Tinnitus sufferers here ?

      I’ve had tinnitus for 30 years now. Mine was caused by gunfire. It’s constant. I mask it by always having music playing, or tv on. As soon as I wake, radio goes on and stays on all day, my wife hates it but understands why. If she really wants peace and quiet, I use headphones. Fortunately it doesn’t affect sleeping or daily life.

    • RE: My iPad Pro 12"

      I don’t feel the need to add pedals etc. You would have to turn the pages on sheet music, so a tap on the screen is much the same, but much faster. Adding more technology means more chance of failure.

    • RE: First practice using trumpet mask

      @GeorgeB

      Research in the UK shows that trumpets/cornets do not require covers, as less aerosols are released than by breathing when wearing a mask. Flutes are the worst as air is blown straight across the mouthpiece with some force.

      @Newell-Post
      I’ve been visiting my son and family every year for the last 14 years, when they lived in Arizona. I’m sure we can handle Texas. 😎
