@BigDub The cat is purring and today I had a pair of bald eagles circling overhead. I have a very diverse audience here: three horses, two dogs, a cat, half a dozen black tail deer and the eagles which I see have a nest in a tall cedar just to the North of the house.
Nice place. Real "Alaska" style. I couldn't afford the maintenance. We are care-taking while the owner is out commercial fishing.

Another one slides in, quietly taking a seat at the end of the bar...
I've been "Out of pocket" for a while, returning to find one of my favorite hangouts has disappeared. So here I am, nodding and making eye contact with a few familiar faces, saying nothing (Because I have nothing to say) checking out the place and looking for a comfortable seat where I can have a view of the whole room and a clear line for the door.
As for my qualifications, let me just say that the horses seem to like my playing, the dogs not so much. The wildlife just ignores me, which I count as a good thing given the predominant local species. But I am improving. I will listen to advice from anyone, young or old. I don't hate anyone and I don't bother with screen names.

I haven't tried playing for bears yet. Maybe later this summer.

My First Complaint!
We moved back aboard the boat last week and the next day at about 4PM I pulled out my cornet to practice. About fifteen minutes in I heard @#$%^&*( from the next boat over. My wife came into the cabin and said that my neighbor had "requested" I not pay just then. It seems he was not feeling well.
Then yesterday I had to call an ambulance for him. It turns out he drinks rather more than is healthful; on a regular basis.
Departing tomorrow on the afternoon tide. There won't be any neighbors close by for the next week at least.
