I painted this for my neighbors who just had to say goodbye to him a few weeks ago…maybe a month. Time is a funny thing, isn’t it?![alt text](
According to my neighbors, I was Leo's best friend outside the family.
According to me, I agree -
That was kind of you to do that, Wayne. When you lose a pet it is like losing a member of the family. Your portrait will ensure this furry little member of the family will be remembered forever.
And the work you did is excellent as usual.

GeorgeThank you, George. It was not a chore by any means, though. The neighbors are like family to us, and there’s not much I wouldn’t do for them and vice versa. I truly have never had a dog that wasn’t my own love me as much as he did, and the next door neighbors would agree with that. There were times I was over there that the owners would call him two and three times to come inside. He would pretty much ignore them. Then I would say, come on inside now, Leo, and he would bound up the steps right inside like a shot!
That family couldn’t even mention my name without Leo throwing a fit that he couldn’t come and see me! That’s the truth. -
Got finished with another one to show. Inspired by my times in Idaho and I used a video of a mountain stream for my reference material.

Wow ! I can almost hear the roar of the water. Great work, Wayne.

It's not the water, it's Wayne roaring after stubbing his toe on the easel that fell on him when he was moving the painting.

Never heard of an isle falling on anyone. Might be a first. LOL
MAYBE you meant easel? I don’t know, I just don’t know.
Oddly enough, I don’t use an easel much. Hardly ever. Just with very big canvases. And I try my best not to stub my toe on it……. -

I'd love to have a coffee with you two and listen to the banter between you. It would be a riot...

I would love to as well. Never met the guy. Haha. ( in person, that is )
He does, however, have quite the extensive art by Wayne R Mathisen collection….. -
@dr-go
Wanna hear something crazy? Last night I stubbed my toe on the leg of our bed….big time.
I am so sorry. I will not tease you any more, Doc.
Is that what they call “Karma”?
I think I might have broken my middle toe, no less. -
Well, now, maybe he's a witch doctor and put some kind of hex on you....

No. I'm pretty sure he's a veterinarian.

I do practice pediatrics... so not too far away from the truth.

Last night I stubbed my toe on the leg of our bed….big time.Take two aspirin and call me in the morning.
PS: That'll be $248... less then half the cost of one of your paintings... so who's making the big bucks now?
-

Nah... Hexes cost an extra $300, and is not typically covered by Medicare.

In that case I recommend you "buddy tape" your middle toe to your second toe for several weeks until it heals.

Haha. Good one. Answer to your question: you! Already knew that.
I sometimes forget things, but I'm sure I remember not asking for any medical advice. It was all self diagnosed, self medicated. You should see the toe now. It’s not the same color as the others. And starting to fall off, but other than that, fine. That much I can say. Again, not asking for scientific diagnosis here……I’m on a fixed income.
I will call you if you wish, though. No charge.Other than that, how did you like the painting?

Ahh... now asking me for second opinions. You think you can afford it?

Yikes! I never thought about it……touché
Some opinions are pretty cheap, though. Some I wouldn’t give two cents for, and a penny for their thoughts should call for change back as well…..
