Where is my post?

I registered yesterday and received conformation.
I logged in and laboriously typed in areply to Steve Smiths request for information on Greg Spence. When I submitted it I was advised my email address had not been confirmed and the post disappeared.
I have now confirmed, but can't find any record of my submitted post.Is there any way to recover it.
Why did it let me log in and attempt to reply if it bwasn't going to accept it?
This sucks!

@administrator That post was sent just a few minutes ago.
When I checked my email to after my original post failed, I found the message accepting my reg and asking for email confirmation, which I did. Then there was another timestamped after I did my initial login saying I had requested a change to my email address, which I HAD NOT done. I reconfirmed and was able to login and post the message you saw.
One possibility: The initial field when you login is labeled "Username/Email address". I may have supplied my email address rather than my username, Could that have been seen as a request to change the email address. In the email requesting confirmation of the bogus new email, both the new and the changed address were the same.
When I logged in and posted successfully I definitly used my user name and not my email address, Are they not interchangeable there?
It's a mystery,
