@flugelgirl I agree with this as well. I'm generally not a fan of playing in the red of the top lip (I did it long ago myself), but I've seen it work for a few people. I tell my students as long as they are in the ballpark (anywhere from 1/3 top to 2/3 top and mostly centered left to right) and they can function (this is key) I am good with it.

RE: Free blowing Bach 43 lightweight
"A" leadpipe? LT model Bach trumpets come standard with a 25 pipe, and some have 25-O pipes. If your trumpet has a 25-O pipe, that would open the blow slightly. Also, the 43 bell has slightly less resistance than the 37. I played various 180-37 models for years and played a LT180-43 with a 25-O pipe for awhile. The 37 trumpets always felt a little more compact and resistant (to me).

RE: Rock, Pop, Classic 70's "Horn Bands" from back in the day?
I’m a huge fan of this genre. My horn band covers a lot of music from this time period, but it’s proving to be more and more difficult to add to our following. People do not appreciate this music like they used to, and music isn’t written like this anymore.
Oh well, at least we have all of the great recordings and videos!

RE: TrumpetMaster Format
Yeah, lots of folks are/were members of TrumpetMaster, but this a completely new "thing" with a new owner. I don't see a reason to make it like TrumpetMaster (I like a clean slate once in a while), but it will have a learning curve for sure.

Schilke Club?
Anyone a fan of Schilke trumpets? How about a Schilke Club? I play the S32 and S42HD.

RE: Free blowing Bach 43 lightweight
I’ve never heard of someone mounting a Bach C leadpipe on a Bb trumpet. It would certainly have dramatic effect on playability (and resistance). Glad it’s working out for you.
