RE: I cannot find a 28b Connstellation anywhere. Is there a way to "create" one?
Got a 55 28b! Guy had it in his closet in rural Western NY for 15 years.

The highly modified Getzen Severinsen Scott Kelch is building for me is coming along, too- we call it the Mayhem. I played the 28b for a CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival promo gig yesterday. I'm going to give the Scott Kelch Mayhem a go Saturday when we warm up the crowd for Trombone Shorty.

RE: Serial Number to Brand/Model
I answered my own question. I'm pretty sure the block is off a Fred Gretsch Imperial, which was a .460 version of the Blessing Super Artist. I was surprised, because sometimes Blessing doesn't have a stellar rep. Of course the valves were completely rebuilt and aligned, and fitted with heavy springs and guides. But, they're really good.

Serial Number to Brand/Model
Looking to identify a serial number on a valve block to the brand of trumpet it came off- it's just the casings, everything else is custom rebuilt- and the casings really look like Bach. I'm just trying to avoid getting measurements (maybe for MAW drop ins):
Serial Number: H40562
PS: I'd post a pic of the fantastic horn Scott Kelch built around it (Getzen Severinsen/Blackburn parts except the block), but I can't figure out how to do it.

RE: I cannot find a 28b Connstellation anywhere. Is there a way to "create" one?
Since I'm playing in a big band/entertainment gig I had Scott Kelch make me a horn.
I can't figure out how to drop the image. But she's a wide open flamethrower. -
I cannot find a 28b Connstellation anywhere. Is there a way to "create" one?
I'm just getting back to playing and the chops are back playing a Blessing intermediate horn. Now it's time to buy a pro horn. I had a 1955 Conn Connstellation 28b that I was in love with. It developed pin holes so I sold it and shortly after stopped playing. Now, I want to get another but they are IMPOSSIBLE to find. Is there some way to re-create one swapping out some parts on another Conn? Did Conn make any other wide wrap horns in .459 bore?
