Offending Topic Deleted

I have no idea how that particular topic stirred up so much controversy, but it is gone now. I want TB to be a friendly place. So, even if you know you are right, if you can't say it in a kind and professional manner, maybe it does not need to be said. I don't know, just a thought.

@administrator Deleting is a last option; but perhaps it might be a good thing to refer as to which topic was deleted - there is no means of knowing now what was deleted and why...

It is easy to become very passionate over a topic (trust me, I know) especially if a post is really outside conventional wisdom. However, let's think for a second. Has anyone ever changed anyone's mind when the person you're talking to is so passionate about the topic? No. If someone says something so ridiculous that we want to lash out, stop and think. When we respond in anger, we've just fed their agenda. Instead, think like an attorney in front of a judge and measure our words carefully in such situations. We need to ask ourselves as we type furiously after someone types something that's really against the grain. "Am I trying to change a passionate mind? Spoiler alert. It ain't gonna happen and by responding, you just fed the beast"
Lesson? Don't feed the beast. -
It was the Yamaha thread.
