Cornet blog

Could someone recommend a current cornet blog written in English?
-
I've visited this site off and on. I believe it is a fairly new blogspot. You can give it a try and see what you think,

I only see a 2011 date on that one. You see one later?

@Richard-III
No I have seen anything recent on that blog. -
@GeorgeB
Thanks. I enjoy that site too. Looking for something similar to trumpet boards or trumpetherald sites. Would there be any British,Welsh or Scottish cornet blogs? -
I only visited the site a couple of times and there was never anything new but I didn't notice the date. So now I know why there was nthing new.

I notice that one of the least used subcategories on any forum site is the cornet. We cornet lovers are apparently not as common in the brass world. I see more action in the cornet category on Facebook.
I am joining a new community band as I have just moved. I emailed the director about creating a cornet section within the trumpet section. My old band director had discussed this repeatedly with me in the past and was in favor of it. But the new guy never even answered my email. Too bad.

I too, noticed the lack of attention on the trumpet forums. Where would you suggest I look on facebook? So are cornet players treated like the red head step child in the United States?
Would cornets be covered in brass band forums in the United Kingdom or Europe? -
I played in a British-style Brass Band for a couple of years. Our principal cornet was even a Brit, so that makes it somewhat legit, right?
Here's an interesting fact I learned. Here in Utah, there used to a plethora of brass bands. In the 19th century, many Mormon emigrants came from Europe to the "Deseret Territory" (now Utah), and settled north, west, east and south. One of the cultural traditions they brought with them was the brass band. I understand it was more of a tradition across the country in those days anyway, seeing as brass bands were an important part of morale-boosting in the Civil War.
Here is a photo of a ladies' band. Pretty neat. No such thing exists now. We still have the Tabernacle Choir, but only one brass band remains in the state, and that was started by a modern-day, British emigrant. Kind of sad to see that this tradition no longer exists.

That's one of the few with people still involved.
